The Foggy Bottom West End Village (FBWEV) received a grant of $4,000 from a local non-profit organization to help provide reduced fee memberships for lower-income women.

FBWEV is a Washington, DC volunteer/membership organization that provides services and social activities to help residents live independently for the long term. This grant assists the Village in its commitment to assure that membership in the Village is not restricted by financial status.

Since its launch two year ago, the Village has grown to150 members and a force of 75 volunteers. Currently, 14% of its members benefit from subsidized memberships and from the broad scope of Village services which includes social and cultural events and programs, educational forums, health and wellness sessions, and volunteer services.

As it approaches the third year of operations, the Village’s Board is committed to maintaining a high level of reduced fee members. In order to accomplish this goal, the Village has sought and is seeking additional funding from community resources. Tax deductible donations for this purpose may be made by check or online.
