As we age and more scientific information about nutrition becomes available, it is important for seniors to learn to eat properly so that they can age successfully. On October 7th Dr. John Whyte coached members of the FBWE Village on how to adjust their nutritional intake by suggesting that they consume fewer calories, drink more water, include more fish in their diet, and get between 6-8 hours of sleep.
Dr. Whyte, currently the Director of Professional Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement at the Center for Drugs Evaluation and Research at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has researched and written extensively about what happens to our bodies over time. Dr. Whyte shared strategies to keep members healthy and productive. He relayed his experience with patients, conversations with his colleagues, and engaged in a robust question and answer period which resulted in an evening of lively discussion and hopefully lessons learned.
