FBWEV and Legal Directives
On April 13th, Attorney Myrna Fawcett, a specialist in elder law walked more than 30 Villagers for the second time through checklists for developing advanced directives, and financial and healthcare power of attorneys’. She stressed that completing and updating such paperwork every few years, is essential to remaining independent. She also stressed that Villagers should file this paperwork with an attorney and trusted individual. In an interactive session Ms. Fawcett discussed the difference between wills and trusts. All agreed, that repeating this lecture was an important function for the FBWEV.
