Village members celebrate the Season
During the month of December Village members enjoyed two programs designed to celebrate the Holiday Season.
On December 12th thirteen members toured the elaborately decorated formal rooms, bedrooms, and kitchen of Tudor Place, the home of six generations of Martha Washington’s descendants. As the sun streamed through the beautiful floor-to-ceiling portico windows, members were treated to a Victorian tea with luscious delicate sandwiches, sweets, and a variety of teas. As always lively conversation occurred as members met new people or renewed old acquaintances.
To add to the celebration of the Season, on December 14th members attended a holiday concert and found both physical and spiritual warmth in the Christmas Traditions program presented by the National Men’s Chorus and guest artist Laura Strickling. Miss Strickling’s beautiful soprano voice soared through Western Presbyterian Church. The program included traditional Christmas carols, spirituals, and 20th century secular holiday music. It was a lovely way start to the holiday season.
