Village Super Bowl Party a winner!
Some Villagers were betting on the Broncos while others pulled for the Seahawks. In the end, it didn’t matter! Foggy Bottom West End Villagers pulled together for a fantastic party watching the Super Bowl at Circle One Bistro in Washington, D.C., on Sunday night.
Whether munching on traditional hot wings and sliders or placing “friendly fun” wagers, more than 25 Village members and volunteers chatted and cheered their way to a victorious evening.
The event was organized by Program Committee Chair Jackie Lemire, and Board member C.B. Wooldridge took charge of the festive decorations. Beverly Gyllenhaal, also on the Board, headed up the free raffle, while her husband and Village member Anders Gyllenhaal got tapped as the official photographer and coordinator of the $2 wager pool.
The evening’s winners were Alexandra Blackhurst for halftime score, Elaine Ross for final score, and Village President Susan Haight for predicting answers to the most “Ten game-changing Super Bowl questions.” Each winner graciously donated her winnings to a favorite charity.
