FBA “Trust” extends grant to $60,000 to the FBWE Village
The Foggy Bottom Association Defense and Improvement Corporation, (The Trust), has awarded an additional $20,000 to the Foggy Bottom West End Village to support its start-up operations.
FBWEV is a neighborhood nonprofit volunteer/membership organization that provides services and social activities to help residents live independently for the long term; FBWEV began delivering services October 1, 2013.
While the Village will continue to seek further funding from other organizations and individuals in the community, the additional grant, following one given in March 2013, will allow the Village to continue to offer volunteer services and educational and social programs to all Village members. .
“Our progress and success to date would not have been possible without the support of the “Trust” said Susan B. Haight, President of FBWEV. “That support is much appreciated as the additional contribution of $20,000 will significantly help sustain the Village as we enter our second six months of operation.”
Currently FBWEV has over 115 members and 60 volunteers and completes in excess of 30 service calls a month.
