Current Events Discussion
Friday, March 1, 2019, 12:00 PM
The Village at 2430 K Street NW
If you are wondering about “what on earth is happening” or excited that “something extraordinary is happening” in the US and in the world and would like to discuss current events with fellow villagers, you are invited to register for this current events discussion that will be led by villager Sue Headlee. Our last three Current Events Discussions were well attended resulting in a lively exchange of ideas.
Approximately a week before the scheduled discussion, Sue will send you two articles from the Sunday New York Times and/or The Washington Post. You’ll be asked to read the articles before the event so that you can be prepared to engage in a discussion intended to enhance understanding. You are also invited to bring articles of your own.
Sue Headlee, Ph.D., retired economics professor, taught economic policy and current events at American University for 27 years.
Please come with an open mind and be ready to take part in civil discourse.
Arrival Time: Please note that the front doors the building will open at 11:30 am. Please arrive before 12:00 pm so that everyone is seated and our greeter can attend the program.
Accessibility: The building is accessible via a ramp to the left of the steps leading to the atrium at 2430 K Street NW and an elevator within the building.
